Tim Holden is at least two people. Pennsylvania Tim Holden tells voters one thing in the district and votes differently in Washington. Pennsylvania Tim Holden calls himself a conservative, but WashingTim Holden voted for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker. When his party took the majority in the House, Holden lost the political cover a Republican majority provided him. He's now displaying his true colors. Now that there is a San Francisco liberal calling the shots, Tim Holden has voted with Mrs. Pelosi more than 95% of the time.
Sadly for voters and taxpayers, though, there is only one Tim Holden on taxes and spending. In fifteen years in Congress, he has never failed to vote for a tax increase or against a tax reduction, and Holden has never made a proposal to reduce government spending.
- Holden voted for the 2008 House Budget Resolution which assumes the expiration of the 2001 and 2003 tax rate reductions which will represent the largest tax increase in American history.
- Holden Voted against transparency in government spending and meaningful earmark reform.
