Toni supports a viable and legal immigration system. Sealing our border is the first step in that process. Amnesty is not the answer. Enforcing current laws is an important part of the solution to end illegal immigration.
Build the Fence – Border control is central to the issue of immigration and national security. We must fund and build the fence on our southern border already authorized by Congress.
Border Patrol – We must add Border Patrol Agents and provide them with the training, tools and weapons needed to enforce border security.
Deport Felons – The commission of a felony in the US by an illegal alien is grounds for immediate deportation.
Restore Trust – Americans do not trust our elected officials to keep our borders secure. Restoring that trust is essential. As your representative in Congress, Toni will work to do so.
Enforce Immigration Laws – The immigration laws on the books must be enforced to the letter. Doing so will dry up the incentives that brought illegal aliens here in the first place and encourage self-deportation.
Penalize Those Who Hire Illegals – Enforce penalties for employers who hire illegal aliens. Illegal labor has eroded compensation levels for American workers at the same time they have been taking away jobs that Americans will do.
E-Verify - Require that all employers confirm workers' legal status using the federal "E-Verify" system. E-Verify is free and easy to use. The employer simply types in the employee's name, date of birth and Social Security number (or other work-authorization number) and gets an answer back from the government in seconds.
Guest Worker Program – We must recognize the need for a flexible labor supply that will keep American employers in business. We should expand and simplify the H-2A program authorized by the Immigration and Nationality Act and amended by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 to make temporary labor more accessible for US agricultural employers, among others, without many of the expensive restrictions and requirements currently in place.
Sanctuary Cities – Eliminate federal funding for sanctuary cities in the US.
Promote and Reorganize Legal Immigration - Overhaul the legal immigration system and make it easier and quicker for applicants with needed educational and technical skills to become naturalized citizens.
English as Official Language - Establish English as the official language of the United States
